Sincerely Yours, or SVMK, did a good thing; packing 2-300 souls into a venue that normally fits just about 50 and letting em sweat, squirm and grope until the reaction to JJ was all chemical. Anticipation is the name of the game.
Not the complete truth no – Avner did play a quick intro, two songs and off. There’s a tendency for some of these swepopsters, they who sing in Swedish, to sound or recreate some feeling from Saft or even Page. I’m not really happy about this; that era should have been long since dead and forgotten.
So JJ? Not much. A pumped-up crowd carried the event, sing-a-long and all. The material is stellar but unless it’s carried by lofty expectations and a feeling of something brand new then it’s not much. In the end, people seemed happy, glad to have been there atleast.
